Chris Visits Killin Following Water Supply Issues
Share on Social Media
Yesterday, Chris met with representatives from SEPA, Scottish Water, and residents in Killin to discuss the ongoing situation with the village’s water supply.
He posted the following update on Social Media:
I’m pleased that the water has now been declared safe for consumption, allowing residents to use their tap water as normal again.
Residents told me they were impressed with Scottish Water’s response, particularly the swift provision of bottled water and regular updates. Scottish Water went above and beyond, including:
💧54 pallets of bottled water supplied (around 52,000 litres)
👥 100+ Scottish Water volunteers redeployed from across the country, including Inverclyde, Lanarkshire, Fife and Glasgow
🏢 200+ visits to the customer information point at McLaren Hall car park
🍔 1,000+ hot meals served from their food van
Scottish Water, in turn, praised the community for its cooperation, which helped them carry out their work more effectively.
SEPA confirmed they were notified of the diesel spillage on Thursday evening and have had officers on site since Friday. Their investigation into the cause and impact is ongoing.
I also conveyed feedback from residents on how SEPA’s communications could be improved. I am pleased that they are committed to providing daily updates as the situation progresses.
I will continue to push for updates as the investigation unfolds.
