Chris encourages local groups to help shape the future of National Lottery funding

Chris is encouraging residents, charities and community organisations across Stirling & Strathallan to take part in a new UK-wide consultation on the future of National Lottery funding.

The Call for Evidence, launched by the UK Government, will give communities a greater say in how National Lottery funding is distributed and help ensure support reaches the people, projects and organisations that need it most.

Since 1994, the National Lottery has generated more than £53 billion for over 680,000 projects across the UK, supporting a wide range of initiatives in areas including sport, arts, heritage and local community development.

The review will consider how funding can better reflect community priorities, empower local people in decision-making and make it easier for grassroots organisations to access support.

Chris said:

“The National Lottery has made a real difference to communities across Stirling & Strathallan, supporting the clubs, organisations and local projects that help our communities thrive.

“This consultation is an opportunity for local residents, charities and community groups to help shape how National Lottery funding is distributed in the future.

“I would encourage organisations and individuals across Stirling & Strathallan to submit their views and help ensure funding reflects the priorities of local communities, reaches the areas that need it most and is accessible to grassroots groups.”

The consultation is open to residents, charities, community organisations and local authorities, with responses helping to shape future National Lottery funding policy across the UK.

The Government has said the review forms part of wider efforts to strengthen communities, give local people a stronger voice in decision-making and reduce unnecessary bureaucracy for organisations applying for funding.

Chris is encouraging local groups across Stirling & Strathallan that have previously benefited from National Lottery funding, as well as those seeking support in the future, to share their experiences and ideas before the consultation closes.

The consultation will remain open until 23 September 2026.
