Chris Urges Businesses Across Stirling & Strathallan to Take Up £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant

Chris is encouraging businesses across Stirling & Strathallan to take advantage of the new Youth Jobs Grant, helping local employers grow their workforce while creating opportunities for young people looking to enter employment.

Launched by the UK Government, the scheme provides employers with £3,000 for every eligible 18–24-year-old they hire who has been receiving Universal Credit and searching for work for six months. The funding is designed to support recruitment while helping young people gain valuable workplace experience and take their first steps into a career.

The grant forms part of the Government’s £2.5 billion Youth Guarantee, which aims to support up to 60,000 young people into jobs over the next three years.

Chris said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses across Stirling & Strathallan to grow their teams and invest in the next generation.

“The Youth Jobs Grant offers real financial support to employers while helping young people get that crucial first foot on the ladder.

“I’d strongly encourage local businesses, large and small, to come forward, sign up and take advantage of this scheme. By doing so, they won’t just be filling vacancies – they’ll be developing the future generation.”

Employers can apply through a straightforward online process, with payments made in two instalments once employment has been verified.

Alongside the grant, Jobcentres are expanding support to help businesses connect with job-ready candidates. Young people will also be able to access tailored routes into employment, training and apprenticeships.

Chris added:

“We have talented young people right across Stirling & Strathallan who are ready to work and eager to learn. This funding helps connect them with local employers who need their skills, enthusiasm and energy.

“If you’re a business owner thinking about hiring, now is the time to act.”

Chris is encouraging employers, local organisations and training providers across Stirling & Strathallan to work closely with Jobcentre teams to ensure the constituency benefits fully from the new scheme.

Businesses can find out more and apply through the Government’s recruitment portal.
